Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed a historic rally in Kokrajhar marking the celebration of the historic Bodo Peace Accord.

Addressing a mammoth gathering, Prime Minister Modi congratulated the people of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) for the historic accord which he said has paved way for permanent peace in the area.
The entire nation looked up to the people of BTR for their stand, said PM Modi as he started his speech in Bodo language. He stressed on the fact that the Bodo accord was all-inclusive and had brought to an end decades of strife.

PM Modi pointed out that signing of the accord will bring permanent peace to the region and will motivate other groups to shun the path of violence.
The Prime Minister also said that the Bodo Peace Accord was all inclusive and came as a win-win situation for all the people of BTR irrespective of communities. It was a victory for humanity, he said.
He also highlighted the development packages that BTR had received due to the signing of the peace accord.
“The arrival of peace to Assam is a historic moment. It is a great coincidence that it has happened when the entire country is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi,” the Prime Minister said.
Modi also didn’t miss the opportunity to hit out at the opposition and some vested groups for allegedly spreading misinformation on the Citizenship Amendment Act.
I assure you that no outsider can come and settle in Assam through #CAA.
