In a bid to tackle the increasing menace of drugs and alcohol abuse in the state of Mizoram, Social Welfare Minister K Beichhua held a crucial meeting with the Central Young Mizo Association leaders on Thursday.
The Social Welfare Minister and YMA leaders spoke on how they can further encourage the Mizo youth who have abstained from substance abuse to keep up their lifestyle and also on ways by which the government can work together with NGOs in supervising and monitoring the “Outreach Dropping Centres”.
The outreach dropping centres are proposed to open at various locations of the state. A training program will also be held on tackling substance abuse crisis and related topics.
For the training which is expected to be held by March of this year, 625 YMA members from different parts of Mizoram will be selected to qualify as master trainers.
