Assam serial blasts: Police detain 17 suspects

As many as 10 persons have been detained for interrogation in connection with the three blasts that rocked Dibrugarh district in Assam on the occasion of Republic Day.

Dibrugarh SP, Sreejith T told Northeast Live that two persons have been detained in connection with the blast in Duliajan and 8 persons have been detained for the twin blasts in Dibrugarh town.

Interrogation of the detainees will be carried out by police and other security forces later today.

Seven persons have been detained by police in connection with the blast at Sonari in Charaideo district of upper Assam.

Meanwhile, ULFA-Independent on Sunday claimed the responsibility of serial blasts in Assam on Republic Day.
