The National Democratic Front of Bodoland or NDFB, under the leadership of B Saoraigwra has agreed to come overground and join the peace process by being a signatory to the proposed comprehensive Memorandum of Settlement with Bodo organizations.
This comes after the Government of India, Government of Assam and the NDFB(S) entered into a tripartite Suspension of Operations agreement (SoO) in New Delhi on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that leaders and cadres of the banned outfit had earlier left Myanmar to enter India and lay down arms before the Indian Army.
Soaraigwra and few leaders were a part of the 27 NDFB(S) cadres who reached India to join the peace process.
BPF Chief Hagrama Mohillary had earlier mentioned that a new NDFB agreement was to be signed encompassing all groups and factions of the outfit including the surrendered cadres to bring in lasting peace in BTAD.
