A major tragedy was averted in Imphal after a hand grenade lobbed by unidentified miscreants at the office of the Accountant General in Manipur, did not explode.
The office of the Accountant General is located just 50 m away from the State Secretariat and Manipur Police Headquarters.
Later, a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and recovered the grenade. Police are yet to make any breakthrough into the case.
