Thousands of students of primary and middle schools across Mizoram could not write their terminal examinations due to an indefinite strike by the Federation of Mizoram Samgra Employees comprising of teachers employed under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyaan.

Taking strong exception into the matter the Mizoram Government has sent a strong warning to the agitating teachers, asking them to resume their duties by tomorrow.

The Government has said that the teachers who fail to join their duties by tomorrow, will be sacked and replaced.

Future of thousands of students of the State were put at stake as the school teachers in the State have gone in a mass casual leave across the State demanding 70 percent reservation for corresponding post in the ongoing recruitment undertaken by the State Education Department.
