The 18-hour long shutdown call by Manipur People against CAB (MANPAC) brings normal life to a standstill in Manipur.
The streets of capital city of Imphal since early this morning wore a deserted look and almost all shops were shut down.
Private institutions including schools also remained shut. The bandh called by the MANPAC started from yesterday midnight and will continue till 6 pm in the evening.
The call for shutdown came after the Central Governments reported agenda to pass the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) in the ensuing Winter Session of the Parliament.
Although the State Government had issued a strict advisory to its employees to attend their offices and educational institutions to function normally, not much of a rush has been witnessed in the streets of Manipur.
