The Citizenship Amendment Bill is all set to be tabled at the upcoming winter session of the parliament.

The bill has figured in the order of business list for the winter session of the parliament, which was made public on Thursday evening.

The parliament’s winter session is set to begin from November 18 and will continue till December 13. The Central Government has always been vocal about the tabling the bill in the winter session and will also try its level best to get it passed.

However, the bill to be tabled in this winter session, is going to be a revised version of the earlier bill and some of the clauses may also get further amended during the course of discussions in the parliament.

CAB has created quite a furore in the parliament with protests sparking all over Northeast.

The BJP top brass has been trying its level best to reach out to stakeholders in the region on the issue with Union Home Minister Amit Shah making rounds of the Northeastern region for confidence building measures over the issue.
