The collective leadership of NSCN-IM held formal talks with the Government of India in New Delhi on Thursday.
The meeting between a 10-member delegation of the NSCN-IM led by the group’s general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah and Government of India representatives lasted for almost 3 hours.
According to top sources, during the marathon meet the NSCN-IM reiterated its demand for a separate flag and constitution.
Sources added that the NSCN-IM is not willing to give up on its critical demands including the need for separate flag and constitution plus the sovereignty issue.
The NSCN-leadership had spent the last two months at the Camp Hebron and was involved in a series of deliberations with the Naga Civil society groups.
The talks came at a crucial juncture when the Government of India is pushing for a solution to the Naga Peace Process within this year.
