Six hardcore NDFB(S) militants nabbed in Assam’s Kokrajhar

Six hardcore militants of the NDFB’s Songbijit faction were apprehended in a joint operation conducted by the Army and Assam Police.
The operation was conducted at the Ripu Reserve Forest in Kokrajhar district where an ambush party took note of six individuals moving suspiciously in the area. When they tried to escape, the security forces pursued them and successfully nabbed all six of them.
Among the arrested militants is Bahaiga Basumatary who is the self-styled cultural secretary of the outfit. The other arrested militants have been identified as Ranjolal Wary, Rubiram Goyary, Julesh Musharay, Sailen Borgoyary and Rajesh Narzary.
Out of the six cadres apprehended, three belonged to Kokrajhar district while the other three are from Chirang district.
The troops immediately moved to the camp site and conducted a thorough search. This led to the recovery of one M16 Assault Rifle, six 7.65 mm pistols, twelve magazines, ammunition, medicines, rations, along with several other war like and administrative stores.
