The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted areas such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Friday.
The weather forecasting agency further predicted that areas such as Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim are also likely to receive heavy downpour throughout the day.
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over Gujarat region, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal,” stated IMD in its All India Weather Warning Bulletin.
Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places over Bihar and Jharkhand.
Strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over west-central and south-west Arabian Sea.
The fishermen have been advised not to venture into these areas for the next few days.
