As many as four Rohingya refugees arrested back in 2013 for illegal entering Manipur, were on Tuesday handed over to Myanmar.

The deportation took place at the immigration office near the India-Myanmar Friendship bridge in Moreh in the presence of top immigration officials from Myanmar.

A team of Indian Reserved Battalion and officials of Manipur Central Jail accompanied the four Rohingya refugees to Moreh.

The Rohingyas had illegally entered the state’s Churanchandpur district in 2013 and were convicted under the Foreigners Act.
