The NSCN-IM has for the first time today briefed top Naga civil society groups about the contents of the 2015 Framework Agreement telling the gathering that the Government of India has come to accept the unique history of the Naga people and that the two entities can co-exist in a peaceful manner.

The NSCN-IM leaders have also stated that the final solution to the Naga problem would be arrived at on the basis of the Framework agreement.

The NSCN-IM leadership gave this briefing at a crucial consultative meeting with various Naga Civil society groups at Camp Hebron.

Representatives of Naga Hoho, Naga Students Federation, Naga Mothers Association, United Naga Council and Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights were present in the meeting.

However, in a statement recently, NSCN-IM Chairman Q Tuccu and General Secretary Thiungaleng Muivah, had observed that the Government of India was going slow on core issues even 4 years after the signing of the Framework Agreement in 2015.

The leadership pointed out that there was no agreement on issues like a separate Flag or Constitution for the Nagas which they describe as the core issues.

The NSCN-IM believes that without these two core issues solved, there can be no honourable and acceptable solution to the Naga issue.
