A woman from Assam was allegedly stripped naked and mercilessly beaten up by cops in a police station in Gurugram’s upscale DLF phase one.
The woman was working as a domestic help in a household in DLF phase one. Her employers lodged a complaint with the police alleging that she had stolen valuables from the house.
On receipt of the complaint, Gurugram police picked her up and thrashed her in lock up.
On getting information about the incident, hundreds of people from Northeast living in Delhi and Gurugram got together and lodged a complaint with Police Commissioner Mohammad Ali.
Action is now being taken against the Assistant Sub Inspector, OC, Head Constable and woman constable of DLF phase one police station who abused and assaulted the woman who is now battling for life in a hospital.
