The Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Mumbai Police has arrested a youth from Dharamtul in Assam’s Morigaon district, on charges of sending a death threat mail to the BCCI against the Indian Cricket team.
The arrested youth identified as Braj Mohan Das had sent the mail to the BCCI, threatening to kill players of the cricket team, if appropriate measures against terrorist outfits are not taken.
Upon receiving the mail, the BCCI immediately informed the Mumbai police about it. The case was then taken up by the Mumbai ATS.
Following this, the ATS team had arrived in Guwahati yesterday and arrested the youth.
Meanwhile, Braj Mohan Das will be produced at a Court in Guwahati by the ATS team to seek a transit remand.
Following the mail, the security of the Indian Cricket team, which is in West Indies, has been tightened.
