Assam government will enforce a four percent job reservation policy for differently abled people in higher educational institutions.

The office of the commissioner for persons with disabilities under the state government wrote to the director of higher education, saying it has received various complaints from persons with disabilities on non-reservation of jobs from them.

The commissioners office reminded that according to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, four percent jobs should be reserved for differently abled people.

It said that the matter was reiterated by the state’s personnel department through a memorandum in January this year.
