From Assam to Manipur, Nagaland to Tripura, people came out in large numbers to celebrate the occasion.

Chief ministers of all Northeastern states led the celebrations from the respective state capitals. Cultural performances and special renditions added to the occasion.

Reports of celebrations also came in from the remote corners of the region making the occasion a special one.

Be it in the remote parts of Arunachal or higher reaches of Sikkim, nationalistic fervour gripped Northeast as the country marked its 73rd Independence Day.
