The Assam Police have arrested three persons for their involvement in the horrific mob lynching case in Eastern Assam’s Sivasagar district on August 8.

The arrested trio have been identified as Sanjiv Saikia, Prashanta Duwara and Podum Gogoi. The arrest comes a day after irate protesters laid siege to the Namti police station demanding stern action against the perpetrators.

A youth identified as Shantanu Borgohain lost his life on way to the hospital after he was allegedly thrashed brutally by miscreants in the Namti Bazaar area.
