In a big breakthrough, the Assam Police have arrested 4 linkmen of rebel group ULFA-Independent from different parts of Eastern Assam.
Significantly, among those arrested include two female operatives of the rebel group. The duo has been identified as Chayankia Kaman who is a lecturer by profession; while Kabita Kaman is a student.
Acting on specific inputs police also arrested two other ULFA-I linkmen Kanak Pegu and Debajyoti Duwarah in Dibrugarh district. It may be mentioned that Kanak Pegu is an ICU technician at a private nursing home in Dibrugarh.
Meanwhile, two other ULFA-I cadres were forced to surrender after being holed up in an area following a manhunt launched by security forces under Pengeree police station in Tinsukia district. Two China made hand grenades were recovered from the possession of the duo.
