Ravi was sworn-in at the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan, he was administered the oath of office by Gauhati High Court (Acting) Justice Arup Kumar Goswami.

Cabinet Ministers of the Nagaland Government including Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton were present in the swearing in ceremony. Former Chief Minister SC Jamir was also present in the swearing-in ceremony.

Top sources have informed Northeast Live that Ravi in all likelihood will continue as the Centre’s interlocutor for the Naga peace talks while serving as the Governor.

Ravi’s appointment as the Governor of Nagaland is being seen by many as a step to finalise the Naga Peace Talks t the earliest. Ravi has been closely associated with the peace talks from the very beginning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi choosing him as the Government of India’s representative and interlocutor back in 2014.

It was only after Ravi’s appointment that the Naga Framework Agreement was signed between the Centre and the NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015.
