Arunachal Pradesh: 20 cases of Japanese Encephalitis detected in East Siang

Fifteen more cases of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) have been reported from East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. According to Director of Health Services Moromor Lego, the number of persons detected
Fifteen more cases of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) have been reported from East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Director of Health Services Moromor Lego, the number of persons detected with JE in the East Siang district has gone up to 20. Earlier, 5 cases of the vector borne disease were reported on Monday.
As safety measures, the Tirap district administration has banned the import of pigs and piglets from the neighbouring states and districts for a month. The order will remain in force until the situation improves.
Lego further added that an expert team from the health department will visit Pasighat today to take stock of the situation.
He also added that the department has taken all necessary measures to prevent the disease from further spreading in the state.
