A major tragedy was averted in Manipur’s Imphal after the police retrieved an Improvised Explosive Device or IED, which was planted in front of Imphal Public School in Canchipur area near Manipur University.
The IED which was kept inside a bag was first noticed by locals, who later informed the police authorities. Agitated over being targetted, students and teachers of the school took to protest.
It is not the first time that a school has been targetted in Manipur. Earlier, a live IED was found planted at the Children Catholic School on February 14 from Canchipur area.
Subsequently, another bomb was found planted along the National Highway-150 targetting the Little Flower School in Imphal.
