Mizoram Assembly passes 2019-20 budget

The Mizoram Assembly has passed its annual budget for the year 2019-20 amounting to Rs 10,692.30 crore. The budget was presented by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, who also holds the Finance

The Mizoram Assembly has passed its annual budget for the year 2019-20 amounting to Rs 10,692.30 crore.

The budget was presented by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, who also holds the Finance portfolio, in the House on June 13.

The budget comprises of a revenue expenditure that amounts to Rs 8,403.52 crore, which will be used for payment of salaries to employees, pensions and other government establishment costs.

Meanwhile, the capital expenditure allocation of rupees 2,288.78 crore was mainly for developmental works, creation of infrastructure and assets.
