Manipur: Drug peddler apprehended with over 1 lakh WY tablets in Moreh

A combined team of the Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles and Moreh Police apprehended a drug peddler along with over 1 lakh ‘World is Yours’ (WY) tablets from New Champhai village in the Manipur’s Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh.
According to the police sources, the recovered illicit drug tablets would fetch to approximately Rs 3 crore in the international market.
The drug peddler has been identified as TS Khaigunlen Haokip who was handed over to the Moreh police for further investigation and legal action.
It may be mentioned here that this year, 43 Assam Rifles of Moreh Battalion, 12 Assam Rifles of Tengnoupal Battalion and Tengnoupal District Police and Commandos in total has seized a record breaking of over Rs 80 crores worth drugs and contrabands.
