The Japanese ambassador to India Kenji Hiramatsu is in Manipur.

A business interactive meet was held between Japanese business delegates led by the Ambassador and entrepreneurs, academicians and government officials led by Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu at Classic Grande in Imphal on Friday.

This was the first such interaction of its kind comprising of a total of 100 plus delegates which included the heads of Japanese companies in India.

Suggestions on possible collaboration in setting up multi model logistic park, super specialty hospitals, development of text books, scientific parks, scholarship to students of the State, faculty development programme, setting up food processing infrastructure, internship at Japanese companies for Management and Technical students, setting up of Japanese studies in Manipur University and development of Loktak Lake as a tourist hub were discussed. Later in the evening, Chief Minister N Biren Singh hosted a grand dinner.
