The anti-talks faction of the Karbi People’s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) outfit received a major blow as security forces succeeded in apprehending some of their top leaders.
In a joint operation conducted by the police teams from Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao in Umrangso, the outfit’s president Robin Ejame, General Secretary Bestar Hanse and three other militants were arrested.
The other three arrested militants have been identified as Jiten Krau, Hatsing Fangso and Matthews Ronghi.
Police also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition form the KPLT hideout. The operation was headed by Dima Hasao ASP Prashanta Dutta.
