Today is Eid-ul-Fitr and Muslims all over the world are observing the auspicious occasion after a month of fasting during the holy month of Ramzan.
Muslims across the globe offered special prayers in the morning to mark the day of love and brotherhood.
Along with the rest of the world, Muslims of India and the Northeast are also celebrating the day with great vigour and religious fervour calling for peace and unity among all faiths.
Muslims gathered in large numbers in mosques across the region to offer morning prayers.
Scores of people gathered at various Idgahs and mosques to perform the special morning prayers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr in Guwahati. People attended the morning Namaz prayers at the city’s Machkhowa Idgah Maidan grounds as they came together to observe the auspicious occasion.
Meanwhile, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also wished on the occasion of Eid.

Eid is also being celebrated with aplomb in other parts of the country. Delhi, Aligarh, Bhopal, etc saw large numbers of people come out early in the morning for the prayers.
In Delhi, people gathered at the historic Jama Masjid where the morning Namaz was offered by thousands.
