The ICC World Cup 2019 opening ceremony comes to an end with official World Cup 2019 Song Stand By’ being performed by singer Loryn.

An array of stars, including the captains of the 10 teams, former players and celebrities light up the “Opening Party” which had the picturesque Buckingham Palace in the background.

With Kevin Pietersen, Shibani Dandekar and Paddy McGuinness hosting the party, the curtain raiser to World Cup 2019 was short, crisp and entertaining.

It began with a glittering opening ceremony at the iconic Mall in front of the Buckingham Palace in London on Wednesday.

Also, among many, nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan who has been an advocate of women’s cricket stole the show with her speech on the importance of women taking up sports.

Ahead of the opening ceremony, the captains from the World Cup-playing nations also posed with the Queen.

Indian captain Kohli received the loudest cheer as he walked on to the stage. England will host South Africa in the World Cup opener on Thursday.
