Rahul Gandhi offered to resign as the Congress President following the party’s drubbing in the Lok Sabha elections.

A crucial Congress Working Committee (CWC) meet was held at the national capital to take a call on the Congress President’s decision to step down.

In the resolution adopted at today’s CWC, the party said it had accepted the mandate of the people of India will all humility and fully recognises the challenges, failures shortcomings of the party that resulted in this mandate.

This is the second successive debacle for the Congress in Lok Sabha elections and Gandhi had been the prominent face in both the elections.
