All eyes are now set for the D-day on May 23rd as results for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be out as exit polls have predicted that it will be Narendra Modi who will once again come back as the Prime Minister with the BJP-led NDA getting a clear majority.
However, the final picture will be clear once the counting of votes begin at 8 AM. Over 8000 candidates were in the fray for 542 Lok Sabha seats across the country. An average of 66.88 per cent voters exercised their franchise in this election.
The fate of candidates who contested for the 25 seats in the region will also be decided tomorrow. Assam will be among the focus state in the region with as many as 14 Lok Sabha seats at stake.
Meanwhile, leaders of the BJP-led NDA huddled in New Delhi and took part in a crucial dinner meeting hosted by BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday evening. It was a thanksgiving dinner aimed at ensuring that NDA allies stand together.
Talking to newspersons, the NDA leadership expressed faith on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership while slamming the opposition including the Congress for their decision to move the Election Commission over the EVM issue.
