Parag overtook his Rajasthan teammate Sanju Samson’s record of youngest half-centurion in the IPL. He was a member of the World Cup-winning India’s under-19 team in 2018.
Riyan, son of former Assam Ranji player Parag Das and international swimmer Mithu Baruah, etched his name in IPL record books by becoming the youngest player to score a fifty.
The 17-year-old emerged as the lone bright spot for his team and single-handedly took Rajasthan to some respectable total of 115/9 that was studded with four boundaries and two huge sixes.
Parag, who made his IPL debut this year, has so far played seven matches, scoring 160 runs at an average of 40.
