Girls outshine boys in the CBSE class 12 examination, the results of which were announced on Thursday.

Students from Thiruvananthpuram have recorded the highest pass at 98.2 percent followed by Chennai at 92.93 percent and then Delhi at 91.87 percent.

Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora from Uttar Pradesh topped the exams scoring an unprecedented 499 marks each out of 500 followed by Gaurangi Chawla from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand who scored 498 marks.

A total of over 12 lakh students appeared for class 12 exams. The average pass percentage stands at 83.4 percent.
