Political violence has rocked Tripura barely two days before polling for the state’s East Parliamentary constituency which votes on April 18th.

As many as 3 Congress supporters were killed in the state’s Dhalai district on Sunday night.

The Congress has blamed the ruling BJP for the killings with party’s East Lok Sabha seat candidate and member of Tripura’s royal family Pragya Debberma launching a direct attack on chief minister Biplab Deb and BJP’s Tripura in charge Sunil Deodhar.

Addressing media persons, Debberma, who is also the sister of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee president Pradyut Debberma, alleged that the senior BJP leaders are inciting their workers to carry out offensives on supporters of other parties.

The three deceased have been identified as Subal Kanti Chakma, Kinachand Chakma and Hemati Tripura. Meanwhile, the Congress has lodged a complaint with the Returning Officer East Constituency following the incident.
