Earlier in the morning, Gandhi landed in Wayanad by chopper to file documents to contest a second constituency for the first time ever. He was greeted by a large number of Congress supporters.

Meanwhile, Gandhi’s opponent in Amethi, Smriti Irani launched a scathing attack on the Congress president alleging him of insulting the people of Amethi.

The BJP also attacked Gandhi saying that he chose to contest from Wayanad as he was unsure of his prospects in Amethi.
