IPFT says no to Cong on candidate withdrawal request

The IPFT has turned down the Congress party’s request to withdraw its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. The party top brass took this decision in a meeting in Agartala

The IPFT has turned down the Congress party’s request to withdraw its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

The party top brass took this decision in a meeting in Agartala on Thursday. Party President NC Debbarma said it was not possible to bail out from the contest at this juncture.

Earlier, Tripura Congress President Pradyut Debbarma and President of its new ally INPT, BK Hrangkhawl had met Debbarma last night appealing the IPFT to withdraw its candidates and back the Congress to keep the BJP at bay.
