Kick-starting the party’s campaign in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for robbing the Northeast states of special status category and trying to impose the Citizenship Bill on the region.
Gandhi also slammed the RSS and BJP for allegedly trying to impose one ideology on the entire country. Addressing a gathering at the IG Park in Itanagar Gandhi promised to renew the special status category to the Northeast if the Congress is voted to power. He added that the Congress wont allow the Citizenship Bill to be passed.
The Congress president is slated to interact with Block Congress presidents, NGO leaders and members of civil society organisations later in the day before leaving for Manipur capital Imphal.
Meanwhile, the Congress president also attacked the Pema Khandu-led BJP government in Arunachal Pradesh for the death of anti-PRC protesters recently.
