An NIA team has arrived in Tripura capital Agartala to interrogate the arrested Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh operative, Nazir Sheikh.

Sheikh who was arrested from West Tripura district on Tuesday was sent to a 12-day police custody on Wednesday.

After preliminary interrogation by top intelligence officials, Sheikh – a resident of Murshi-dabad of West Bengal was produced in a local Court yesterday, seeking his custody.

After hearing the case, the Court sent him to a 12-day police custody for intensive interrogation.

The JMB is a Bangladesh based terrorist Outfit, which has been trying to create unrest in the Northeast in the recent past. Sheikh who managed to sneak into the state managed to get employment in a construction company.
