The Naga National Political Groups, that now includes the NSCN-K faction led by Khango Konyak, on Monday impressed upon the Centre that the impending solution to the Naga problem must take into account the interest of the Nagas in the whole of the Northeast including adjoining Myanmar.

Representatives of 7 NNPGs today held a nearly 3 hour long meeting in New Delhi with the interlocutor for the Naga peace talks RN Ravi who is also the deputy national security adviser.

This is the first meeting that the peace talks was attended by an NSCN-K delegation led by general secretary Isak Sumi.

Significantly, the insistence by the NNPG today that the centre must also take into account the aspirations of the Nagas of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam besides neighboring Myanmar may only prolong the ongoing negotiations between the two sides to arrive at a solution to the seven-decade old Naga political problem.

It may be mentioned that the Khango-Konyak led faction recently joined the peace talks after signing of a memorandum of understanding with the 6 Naga National Political Groups in Dimapur last week.
