A 14-member rescue team from Chennai and Hyderabad have reached Guwahati and are headed to the disaster site where 15 miners are trapped inside a flooded coal mine in East

A 14-member rescue team from Chennai and Hyderabad have reached Guwahati and are headed to the disaster site where 15 miners are trapped inside a flooded coal mine in East Jaintia Hills.

The teams from Planys Technology, Chennai and National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad can play a crucial role in the rescue operations.

The team is equipped with supplements to help the Navy, which is already at the site trying to pump water out of the ill-fated mine for over 20 days.

According to sources, Scientist Dr Sudhir Kumar of the National Institute of Hydrology of Roorkee will also be visiting the site to take stock of the rescue operations.

Meanwhile, rescue operations complete a month at the rat-hole coal mine, yet the fate of the missing 15 miners, trapped inside a flooded coal pit remain uncertain.
