Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the firing incident during anti-citizenship protests in the state on January 8.

6-members of the Twipra Students Federation (TSF) were critically injured after police opened fire when protest by the students organisation against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill turned violent.

The Twipra Students Federation took to the streets in protest against the contentious Bill as part of the 11-hour NESO shutdown called on January 8.
