The NESO has called for a region-wide 11-hour bandh tomorrow in protest against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
The NESO has called the Northeast Bandh in support of the AASU’s call for a shutdown in Assam on Tuesday, January 8.
Opposing the Centre’s move to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, the All Manipur Students Union will also join the region-wide shutdown called by the North East Students Organisation.
AMSU President, Manjin Sarangthem said that the bill should not be passed in the parliament and if passed then the student body will resort to massive agitation.
Meanwhile, the Naga Students Federation has also extended their support to the 11-hour bandh called by NESO.
The Naga students’ body informed that it would organize and impose the total bandh called by NESO within its jurisdiction from 5 am to 4 pm on Tuesday.
The NSF directed all its federating units and sub-ordinate bodies to enforce the bandh in their respective jurisdictions.
