JPC meet on Citizenship Bill concludes in New Delhi

The last meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee for the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill concluded in New Delhi. According to reports, a series of proposals put forward by the JPC members

The last meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee for the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill concluded in New Delhi.

According to reports, a series of proposals put forward by the JPC members were rejected in the meeting. Meanwhile, another meeting of the JPC will be held on January 3.

The final draft report of the committee will be prepared on the basis of the outcomes of the meeting following which the final draft report of the JPC will be presented at the Parliament.

However, the JPC is likely to miss the current session of the Parliament to present the draft report, as the current winter session of the Parliament will end on January 8.
