Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Chief Ripun Bora staged protest inside the Parliament premises demanding increase in daily wages of tea garden workers of Assam.
Bora was accompanied by Santiuse Kujur, vice president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee in the protest dharna.
Tea garden workers of Assam have been deprived for years of their basic rights like the minimum wage.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met and assured the tea garden workers before the 2014 elections uniform minimum wage across,however, those promises are yet to be fulfilled.
