A two-day long academic interaction session titled “Borderland and Governance: Northeast India and Myanmar” kicked off on Tuesday at the Court hall of Manipur University in Imphal.
The session, organised by Manipur University’s Centre for Myanmar Studies, is being attended by 33 delegates from different part of Myanmar, which include various political leaders, leaders of various ethnic minorities from Shan, Arakan, Kachin, Chin, Karene and other stakeholders. Meanwhile, the delegation is expected to meet chief minister N Biren Singh.
It is worth mentioning here, before arriving in Manipur, the delegates have also sojourned in Assam and Mizoram to have an overview about the administrative set up and governance.
