Mizoram Election Result 2018: Stage set for counting of votes tomorrow

The stage is all set for the counting of votes for the recently concluded Mizoram state assembly elections.

Briefing newspersons, Mizoram chief electoral officer Ashish Kundra said that the counting will begin at 8 AM tomorrow with the counting of postal ballots and after that the counting of EVMs will begin.

The Mizoram CEO said that a total of 1401 counting officials will be involved in the process and that a three layered security cover have been put in place that consists of the Mizoram police, Mizoram armed police and 8 companies of the Central armed paramilitary forces to deployed across the state.

The counting of votes will take place in multiple rounds. Kundra who is satisfied with the arrangements put in place also expressed confidence that the counting of votes will go smoothly and peacefully.

Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made by the Serchhip district administration.

Over hundred security personnel have been deployed at the Deputy commissioner’s office where counting of votes is scheduled to begin at 8 AM.
