The 64th National Women’s Football Tournament kicked off on Sunday amid much fanfare.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb inaugurated the games during the opening ceremony at the Umakanta mini stadium in Tripura.
Youth and Sports Affairs minister Manoj Kanti Deb was also present at the ceremony.
CM Biplab Deb also felicitated three promising women players of the state who have shone in the national arena.
Under-17 women players from all over India are participating in the Games.
The sports department of Tripura government, Tripura school sports board and the Centre organised the event.
