The Biswanath Hakumtha tea garden polling station is all set for re-polling on Friday after chaotic scenes were witnessed in the polling station during Phase-1 polling for Panchayat elections on Wednesday.
Scores of angry locals yesterday created a ruckus by entering the polling station, pulling out ballot boxes and setting them on fire obstructing the polling process.
According to reports, the voters got angry over alleged anomalies in the polling process during the day time.
The polling timings will be from 7am in the morning till 3pm in the afternoon and will be conducted on Friday.
Meanwhile, apart from Biswanath’s Hakumtha Tea Estate Polling Station, the State Election Commision have decided to carry out repolling in three polling stations in Dhemaji and two polling stations in Dhakuakhana.
