The stage is all set for the first phase of polling for the Panchayat elections in Assam on December 5.

As 16 districts of the state go to polls for Panchayat elections tomorrow, polling officers reached their respective polling stations on Tuesday morning.

And as many as, 1799 of the total 14077 polling stations where voting for the Panchayat elections will be held tomorrow have been declared sensitive. Meanwhile, another 5162 polling stations have been tagged sensitive.

In the wake of several incidents of violence reported from various parts of the state in the run to the rural polls, elaborate security arrangements are being put to ensure smooth conduct of the polls.
