3 injured in blast in Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity Express in Assam

3 people were injured in a blast that took place inside the Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity Express at Harisinga in Assam’s Udalguri district.

The blast took place inside coach number 4 of the intercity express at around 7.04 pm.

As per reports, an IED was kept inside a bag stacked up the luggage rack inside coach number 4 which exploded when the train was only 200 metres away from Harisinga railway station.

Following the blast, the passengers pulled the emergency brake to stop the train even as railway and police officials rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.

The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. Three of the injured in the incident have been identified as Khiroda Bora, Rahul Das and Kuldip Patowary.

While Rahul Das is being shifted to GMCH in Guwahati, the condition of Kuldip Patowary is said to be critical.
