A friendly women football exhibition match was played between Manipur and Mandalay at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium in Imphal.
Manipur women’s football team defeated Myanmar’s Mandalay team 3-1.
The exhibition match was organized as part of the Sangai Festival aiming to foster a close friendship relation between India and Myanmar. The endeavor is to connect Myanmar with Manipur through sports.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated the match in presence of State Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haopkip and other ministers.
Manipur will take on Sagaing in their next friendly match of the ongoing tournament.
